  • Where can I get a grant application and more information?

  • Would our project qualify?

    A wide variety of projects would qualify for grant funding. The general parameters are that the project should include one of the Endowment Board’s areas of emphasis. These include: Arts & Culture, Community Betterment, Education, Health & Human Services, Recreation and the environment, and Youth Development. Examples of past grant awards is available HERE>.

  • Do we have to be 501c3 agency?

    All applicants must be affiliated with a 501c3 qualified group. If the applicant is not a 501c3 non-profit, they may have a 501c3 non-profit group act as a fiscal agent on their behalf. The check will be issued to the 501c3 agency and we will contact the applicant regarding the completeness of the project.

  • Who can I contact for more information?

  • What size of request would be considered?

    See “Would our project qualify” above for examples of projects funded in the past. Generally speaking, there is no maximum for funding requests, although there are typically many good projects and requests. The Board would like to have the greatest possible positive impact on the Boone County community for their investment.

  • Where do funding dollars come from?

    Donations come from various individuals, groups and companies. Philanthropists with ties to the Boone County community can leave a legacy for the future enhancements of Boone County. There are some state gambling revenue dollars through the Endow Iowa legislation.

  • How can I/we contribute to the Boone County Community Foundation?

  • Who decides what projects will be funded?

    The Board of directors selects the award winners.

  • What are the application deadlines and when can I/we apply?

    Typically the deadline is in early February with awards made in April. Applications are taken as soon as current application materials are ready, which is usually before January 1st.
